007 Theme proves a hit for Kia Motors

Working alongside events agency, Fusion Events, our brief was to ensure that Kia’s dealership sales staff had fun while they were learning about the company’s latest models, so Fusion came up with a Spectre-inspired training course called MI5 Masterclass, which was delivered to a total of 720 people over a four day period.

Delegates started their day with breakfast in the ‘Agents’ Catering Area’, where On installed four Samsung 55” HD LED digital display screens playing back a film supplied by Kia, along with backing music from six L-Acoustics 8XT speakers.

The delegates then went on to a video briefing from ‘Q’, aka one of Kia’s top bosses, on a purpose-built 26ft x 10ft graphic wrap set created and manufactured by On Event Production Co., complete with an in-built 10ft 16:9 rear projection screen and Panasonic 7K HD rear projection.

In another area, On installed six Source 4 Fresnels on Manfrotto stands to light a new Kia vehicle. All the windows were blacked out and delegates were driven in at high speed, blindfolded. When they got out of the vehicles, lights suddenly appeared around the new Kia, leaving the rest of the room in darkness and creating an amazingly dramatic effect!

On also provided further Samsung 55” HD LED digital display screens in two other areas, one directly to a mac for a keynote presentation and the other with Apple TV and AirPort Express, which enabled the trainer to run through an app on an iPad.

Commenting on the event, Pete Copeland, production manager at On, said:

“The James Bond training project for Kia was a massive success for everyone involved and was incredibly exciting to work on.

“We worked closely with Fusion Events to make sure all the technical elements of the project came together seamlessly and are developing a great working relationship with all the guys there.

“The feedback from both Kia management and staff and Fusion Events has been extremely positive and we look forward to working on another event with them in the future,” added Pete.

On has recently been nominated for Production Company of the Year at the 2015 UK Event Awards for the second successive year.
