Our Favourite Event Stand Ideas and How to Pull Them Off

28th January 2020 in Exhibitions

At an event, the last thing you want is to blend in.

The ultimate goal is to have a unique stand that turns heads and gets visitors talking.

To do this, you have to be original. You need to capture the essence of your brand and bring it to life in even the smallest of spaces.

We know that’s easier said than done. So, to give you some inspiration, we’re looking back at some of our favourite event stands.

Live in the Moment

Conceptualising a product you can’t see can be tricky, but not when you have the power of experiential know-how on your side. That’s exactly what we used with RDS Global during the launch of their Black Box™️ software.

We worked with RDS to bring the Black Box™️ to life, inviting visitors to “Step into The Box” and experience the product for themselves. We fabricated a giant 2.5m cubed Black Box™️ and installed a 270-degree video wall and 5.1 surround sound to immerse the visitor with a disruptive sensory experience.

Following the launch, the box has been taken to exhibitions all over the country to showcase the power of the Black Box™️. Proving that an event stand shouldn’t just be something your audience goes to see. To make it memorable it should be an experience.

Who Wants Normal Anyway?

At an event, you’re pitted against some of your biggest competitors, so it’s important to stand out next to them.

This was especially true when we went to Venues and Events Live with our Birmingham-based venue partner, The Eastside Rooms. The exhibition was packed with event professionals, so we had to create an out-of-the-ordinary space to ensure they stood out from the crowd.

We took inspiration from The Eastside Rooms’ location, replicating the industrial street vibe that the east side of Birmingham is well known for.

As a result, the stand was one of the most successful at the show, with hundreds of enquiries flooding in, even though the venue was still under construction.

We’re Going on an Adventure

When you’re designing an experiential exhibition stand, you need to put yourself into the shoes of the visitors, thinking about their journey at every stage.

The more intricate their journey is, the more chances you have to grab their attention and blow them away.

And that’s exactly what we did when we worked with Glide during the Student Accommodation Exhibition in 2018. Showcasing the Smart Block 2020, Glide wanted delegates to fully understand its capabilities.

To do this, we took visitors on a tour of a typical student building, including a bedroom/lounge area and a basement-style control room. We used infinity mirrors and a fake lift to give the illusion of a two-storey building, just like a student building.

As a result, Glide had plenty of enquiries to keep them busy and overshadowed the other stands on social media.
