The sky's no limit!.. At the back end of last year On Event Production Co. teamed-up with a global financial institution to stage a series of exciting roadshows in London, Birmingham and Manchester. The Birmingham show was beamed live via two-way satellite link to audiences across the UK.
We handled full technical production, including video, lighting sound and scenery, for the 4-day roadshow, which took the form of two days in London, one in Birmingham and another in Manchester.
We were also charged with the task of ensuring that a 1,000 strong audience located in cinemas in Brighton, Cardiff and Glasgow could participate in real-time with the speakers in the auditorium of the ICC in Birmingham using two-way satellite links to these venues.
This was one of the most complex set of roadshows that we have pulled off during the course of the year and required a high level of technical expertise and equipment to ensure a smooth delivery.
We brought in a large satellite truck at our central hub, alongside smaller outside broadcast vehicles located outside each cinema around the country. The technology employed on this event was the same as the BBC use for live outside broadcast events. Indeed, the main satellite truck was one of the vehicles supporting the BBC’s 2016 coverage of Glastonbury Festival.
We placed experienced production managers at each cinema to ensure the smooth-running of the event and our talented teams ensured the whole event went off without a hitch!
Speaking about the complex roadshow event, Adam Dewhurst, production director at On, said:
“Working with such huge audiences in multiple locations can be quite a challenge, but the whole On team applied their considerable experience and expertise to ensure that the event exceeded all expectations.
It’s been a great experience and we look forward to working on similar projects again in the future.”
