It’s always nice to work close to home, so we were delighted to be invited to provide stage, lighting, sound and video for Nottingham Trent University's 2016 Fashion and Knitwear degree show.
Over the past 40 years, the university has received national and international acclaim, producing fashion graduates who have gone on to shape the industry. Its award-winning fashion design course helps students develop their creative skills in all areas of fashion design development and garment manufacture.
On provided full technical production, including stage, lighting, video and sound for this year’s fashion show, which took place at the University’s historic Arkwright building.
Our set design was in-keeping with the clean, crisp, minimalist look of the building. We incorporated two large portrait screens, that were used to showcase head-to-toe camera shots throughout the show.
Commenting on the success of the event, Adam Dewhurst, production manager at On said:
“We all love being part of this fantastic event, which showcases the creativity and innovation of the University’s graduates.
“This was a challenging set and stage design in many respects because of the number of pillars in this historic building and resulting sight lines. However, with clever lighting techniques and the use of multiple video screens, the finished result was one which really did the degree students proud.”
This year’s degree shows attracted the attention of fashion experts across the country and saw the talented graduate students win a number of prestigious awards.
The Matalan Visionary Knitwear award was won by Kendall Baker and fashion design student Chloe Jackson took home the N Brown Textile Award.
