Leading Midlands live events production company On Event Production Co. has continued its strategic expansion with the appointment of a new director and the creation of a new role at board level for another.
As of 1 February, senior production manager Adam Dewhurst will be promoted to the post of production director, taking over the position left vacant by Chris Vernon-Smith, who assumes the newly created post of technical director.
Adam joined the company in 2008 and worked in all areas of the business, including hire manager and engineer, before making the move into production management in 2010, which coincided with a real turning point for the business.
In his new role as production director, Adam will be responsible for managing a variety of creative live events, along with client liaison and budget management.
The role of technical director has been created to further improve the performance of the business from a technical and logistical perspective. Chris Vernon-Smith will now be responsible for improving the efficiency of On’s warehouse and internal processes. This is to ensure the company can maintain the exceptional service levels its clients are accustomed to as it continues to grow throughout 2016 and beyond.
Commenting on the new appointments, Guy Eaton, managing director of On Event Production Co, said:
“I’m delighted to announce the new roles for Chris and Adam and know they’ll both contribute massively towards our continued growth in 2016.
“Over the past eight years, we’ve watched Adam grow into a popular, pivotal member of our team and his promotion is part of his natural progression through the company.
“Adam is extremely well known and loved by so many of our clients and this appointment will be well received by customers and staff alike.
“The decision to create the role of technical director will enable us to forge ahead with our growth plans after a successful 2015, which saw us relocate to new purpose-designed premises whilst completing a number of high-profile jobs for our clients.”
On, which relocated in summer 2015 to new premises in Castle Donington, has received funding from the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund (DEGF), which supports growth and job creation in businesses in Derby and the surrounding areas.
The funding has facilitated the creation of eight new posts across all levels of the business, which will enable the company to cope with the increased demand from its established network of clients, which ranges from agencies to end-users.
