1. Venue Production Manager

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious technical production manager with experience in end-to-end technical design and production management to join our creative and friendly team within our venue partnership in Birmingham City, The Eastside Rooms (ESR). https://eastsiderooms.com/

Working within a creative & friendly team, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the in-house sales and operation functions at ESR and be involved in the delivery of a wide range of audio visual support and live event production for blue chip brands and their agencies.

We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious individual with industry experience in delivering event production, live event audio visual technical support, and team management. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a venue environment to build strong relationships with clients by delivering an outstanding service.


Key Responsibilities

• Main point of contact for production services for the Eastside Rooms’ various meeting spaces
• Building and developing long term client relationships through exceptional client care
• Managing team of venue technicians
• Advising on technical solutions for live, virtual and hybrid events
• Accompanying venue sales staff on show-rounds and supporting sales efforts
• Providing quotations, drawings/CAD and specifications
• Arranging and booking crew and equipment logistics for events
• Be the main contact at the venue for all rigging in the main conference suite
• Responsible for all On’s equipment residing at the venue
• Health and safety liaison for On at Eastside Rooms

Skills and Qualifications

Working Hours

The role is based on a 37.5-hour workweek, covering core office hours Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of event production support, flexibility is essential with potential early starts, late finishes, and support on some weekends.

2. Scenic Carpenter

On Event Production Co. is seeking an experienced Scenic Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in fabricating and delivering high-quality scenery, stage sets, exhibition stands, and custom furniture for various projects. Working in our workshop and on-site, you'll collaborate with Project Managers and other team members to ensure the delivery of outstanding craftsmanship, meeting project deadlines and maintaining our high standards of safety and quality.


Main job responsibilities:

• Fabricate and build scenery, stage sets, exhibition stands, and furniture based on designs and specifications.
• Work closely with the fabrication team to plan resources, tools, and timelines for each project.
• Ensure all workshop tasks are completed to a high-quality finish and within specified timeframes.
• Assist with the installation and breakdown of scenic elements on-site, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe and organised workshop, managing tools, materials, and stock.
• Adhere to company Health & Safety regulations, completing required documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure the smooth running of projects both in the workshop and on-site.


Essential Skills:

• Proven carpentry experience with strong practical skills in fabrication.
• Understanding of set, scenery, exhibition, and furniture fabrication materials.
• Good knowledge of the safe use of power and hand tools in line with Health & Safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a client-focused approach.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.


Desirable Skills:

• Experience using CAD software for scenic design.
• Forklift truck licence and a valid driving licence.

We are interested in people based both locally within the East Midlands to work at our unit and nationally for work on site.
