On produces stage set for innovative business event

The client wanted something that would capture the imagination of the delegates and retain their interest over two full days – and we certainly managed that!

Our creative team produced an initial stage set, along with a number of break-out rooms. They then created a trendy cafeteria in the style of a Starbucks café, along with a replica of the ‘Cube’ from the television show of the same name, where guests could try their hand at a number of challenges.

Our logistical skills were really tested late in the afternoon, when we dismantled the original stage set and created a brand new backdrop for the evening’s award ceremony – working overnight to create a new set for the second day’s activities.

This involved the creation of a large main area, split into a number of smaller break-out zones, where delegates could listen to presentations on a wide range of topics through individually tuned headsets to prevent noise spillage between the zones.

The original stage was back up for the second part of the day, with the whole thing dismantled once again at the end of the day.

Commenting on the event, Chris Vernon-Smith, production director of On, said:

“This was a really interesting project for us to design and deliver and one we all had plenty of fun doing.

“Constructing The Cube was a challenge and we had to work to some tough time constraints with the erection of the various scenic elements, but we’ve got the staff and the expertise to manage it and the whole event was a huge success.”
