On Event Production Co. recently provided the lighting equipment for Nottingham’s biggest ever Splendour Festival.
We have been involved with the Nottingham Splendour festival since the first festival back in 2008, which attracted around 6,000 people. This year more than 20,000 people flocked to Wollaton Park to see a whole host of big name acts and we supplied their biggest lighting rig yet!
Headlining the festival was Grammy award winner Jess Glynn, legendary reggae and pop band UB40, and the iconic ‘80s group The Human League.
Joining the headliners on the main stage were Jamie Lawson, Jeremy Loops, Turin Brakes and local Nottingham artist Ady Suleiman, as well as megaband The Darkness, The Fratellis, and Stiff Little Fingers amongst others, who played across the park on the Confetti Stage.
Our technical production team liaised with festival organisers and the artists themselves and provided the biggest lighting rig to date for the main stage, whilst also ensuring that each artist’s requirements were met.
Speaking of On’s involvement with this year’s Nottingham Splendour Festival, Ben Dorrington, senior production manager of On, said:
“Splendour Festival is such a brilliant, local event to be part of. The fact we’ve installed the biggest lighting rig ever just proves how much the event has grown over recent years and it’s great that we’ve been able to support every step of the way.
“It’s fantastic to watch a local event flourish and play a small part in bringing big name British and international artists to Wollaton Hall,” added Ben,
On has previously provided lighting at Splendour for a diverse range of acts, including Happy Mondays, Jake Bugg, Maximo Park, Dizzee Rascal, Scissor Sisters, Blondie and Razorlight.
