Creating an interactive townhall for Domestic & General

Helping insurance giant deliver experiential townhall event

THE FEELING: Inspired

THE CHALLENGE: On Event Production Co has worked with Domestic & General for a couple of years and we were delighted to strengthen our relationship by delivering the insurance giant’s most-recent staff event, People Manager Townhall.

Taking place at the iconic Twickenham Stadium, the event was aimed at team leaders within D&G, delivering an interactive and engaging flagship event to highlight the Customer, Vision and People strategy across the business. The full-day event included a main conference and several interactive breakout sessions, culminating in a drink’s reception on the Twickenham Rugby pitch.

Working with the key stakeholders, we were tasked with creating a number of engaging environments to include the main plenary space and a series of exhibition breakout areas for the afternoon activities.

INSPIRING THE AUDIENCE: Having been provided with a creative brief by our client, we designed and fabricated all the elements required for the day in-house. These included a main conference area, complete with a bespoke layered stage set and screens, lighting, sound and customised table centres.

We were also briefed to create 4 very different environments for the exhibition breakouts; each designed to engage with the audience in different ways.  ‘The Customer Maze’, a Crystal Maze-type games room formed one of the breakout areas, which saw teams compete in challenges across four zones, based around Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic themes. Secondly, delegates entered ‘The Forest’ to discuss compliance and hopefully spot the wood from the trees, before they arrived in ‘The Rugby Changing Rooms’ where messages were revealed behind the hanging England shirts.   Their final destination was ‘America’ where they entered a themed diner to hear about the global strategy of the business. This also formed the morning coffee and lunch area where delegates could relax in booths and network with their colleagues.
