The increasing demand for the design and build of more complex and creative stage sets and scenery has led to the expansion of our dedicated in-house fabrication department – This has enabled two members of the team here at On Event Production Co. to really showcase their talents.
Since its launch some 18 months ago, our dedicated fabrication team has gone from strength to strength, carrying out a diverse range of projects for agencies and clients across the UK.
The move six months ago to our new purpose-designed headquarters in Castle Donington has been the catalyst for further expansion and diversification into the manufacture of more bespoke scenic elements and custom stage sets, presenting existing staff with the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise in a number of new areas.
Jacob Thomas and Sean Inger became assistants in the fabrication department last year and since then have been really developing their craft under the supervision of fabrication manager Jethro Sigley.
The pair were recently given the responsibility for the production of a stage set for a high profile awards ceremony in Birmingham for one of our leading agency clients, Primary Live.
They were responsible for the fabrication of the whole project, including cutting, finishing, spraying and adding glitter – They achieved this with a level of accuracy and workmanship usually shown by seasoned professionals and have received positive feedback from the both the agencies and the end client.
Commenting on the company’s commitment to staff development, Chris Vernon-Smith, technical director at On, said:
“It has been tremendous to watch Jacob and Sean’s progress over the past six months. They have developed the confidence and ability to produce work to extremely high standards, which is really rewarding to see.
“We take real pride in watching our staff develop and look forward to seeing Jacob and Sean work on even more sophisticated projects in the future,” added Chris.
