Chris Vernon Smith

Creative Director

Chris brings over 20 years of experience delivering live event experiences, combining creative thinking with practical technical delivery.
Starting on the ground and working through every level of the industry, from loading vans and onsite rigging through to lighting operation, client services, and production management, Chris has built a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver at every stage. Since becoming Director in 2011, he has played a key role in shaping the business, growing it from a small rental operation into a market leading corporate event production company.
His approach is rooted in problem solving. Whether working under tight timelines or budget constraints, Chris focuses on developing smart, efficient solutions that streamline delivery, reduce crew requirements, and automate systems where possible. His background in process design and software development supports this, with the creation of bespoke applications for both clients and internal workflows that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
Chris has delivered projects for a wide range of global brands including HSBC, Samsung, Aldermore Bank, Domestic and General, Adidas, ASICS, Nike, Toyota, Carlsberg Britvic, MAC, and NHS England.
He specialises in immersive experiences, bringing together sound, lighting, video, special effects, and bespoke scenic design into cohesive environments. Notable projects include a laser maze for Mountain Dew, a spirit challenge for ASICS at Tower Bridge, and an outdoor time trial activation for Adidas at Soccer Aid.
Chris also led the delivery of the award winning Aldermore Day, transforming an NEC hall into a large scale all staff experience with integrated plenary and stakeholder environments, delivered with a strong focus on sustainability.
Alongside large scale experiences, he maintains a strong focus on conference delivery, applying a disciplined approach to ensure every element is technically robust and reliable, giving presenters complete confidence on stage.
In addition to delivery, Chris plays a key role in business development, sales, and marketing. He works closely with clients to understand their objectives, translating ideas into commercially viable solutions that deliver impact while maintaining control of budget and scope. His ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness has been instrumental in building long term client relationships and driving sustained growth.
His work spans a wide range of formats, from small conferences through to multi site roadshows, brand activations, and bespoke exhibition environments.

Interstellar Event for Virgin 100 Stars

We were tasked with creating an extra special event for the 100 employees being honoured, as a celebration of all their hard work in the past year. Starting with an initial brief to create a celebration event, we worked with JPDL to evolve this idea into a quirky event built around a central star theme that was anything but ordinary.

We fully dressed the venue with sustainable decorations, made in house by our fabrication team, including a star-shaped stage made of 10 individual sections, so it could be arranged in a multitude of ways.

MAC & Carnaby Street

On always enjoys the challenge of doing something a little bit out of the ordinary, so when one of our agency clients asked us to Production Manage a store opening for their client Mac Cosmetics on Carnaby Street… “Bring it on” was our response. We worked with a number of our carefully chosen suppliers to bring together the production of what turned out to be a very colourful experience in the capital. On provided all of the technical equipment and support to our client as well as full production and site management for what was a truly unforgettable day.
