The problem is that many venues don’t have the production capability or production partner to be able to take advantage of this lucrative opportunity.
Recognising the unlimited possibilities its venue could offer, we were approached by Interstate Hotels to become the production partner of choice for The Eastside Rooms, its newest hotel and events venue in central Birmingham.
The Eastside Rooms, which will open in 2020, is the largest hotel conference space in city centre Birmingham. As part of the initial publicity for the new space, The Eastside Rooms took an exhibition stand at the Venues and Events Live show in London.
On Event Production Co. helped create an exhibition stand that stood out against the rest. Leveraging the ‘street vibe’ found in the east side of Birmingham, we designed and built an urban and industrial style event stand, helping draw in delegates at the show.
We provided full fabrication, installation, lighting, AV and production for the stand.
The exhibition space was on the smaller side, making it challenging to fit everything the client wanted into such a small space, while still making the area feel open, airy and well-spaced.
Large LED screens were also installed onto one of the stand’s walls at different orientations to show a promotional video in slightly more quirky way than creating the usual rectangular screen. To create the desired effect, careful consideration needed to be taken when designing the size and positioning of the screens as together they created a giant canvas.
All elements of the stand were built from scratch in our workshop and installed by our skilled team of stand builders on site.
We graphic wrapped both walls and installed key-clamp around the exhibition stand onto which the screens were rigged. This was very visible and helped create an industrial look and feel.
Copper pipes and light fittings were fixed, stained, aged wood panels were created to build a reception counter and other props were fixed to the walls to emphasise the industrial vibe.
Six LED screens were mounted onto the walls at various orientations. The TVs played a video of a skateboarder who skated her way around various landmarks around Birmingham, before ending up at The Eastside Rooms. The TVs collectively created one giant canvas.
Guy Eaton, On’s Managing Director said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with The Eastside Rooms – it’s a fantastic space with an unparalleled amount of opportunity for transformation.
The exhibition was an incredible success for Eastside, one of the most successful stands at the show with hundreds of enquiries! Going to show that if you spend a little time and effort on your event stand, you can really reap the benefits.”
