Britvic recycling experience

Going retro for Britvic recycling campaign

THE FEELING: Inspired

THE CHALLENGE: We were approached by our good friends at ID Experiential to execute a recycling initiative on behalf of drinks giant Britvic. The firm makes a host of well-known drinks including Pepsi, 7-Up, R Whites, J2O and Drench, was concerned about the fact that far too many empty drinks bottles end up in landfill. So, against the backdrop of the V music festival, in Cheltenham, it decided to do something about it.

INSPIRING THE AUDIENCE: We helped introduce Retro Boombox, which saw recycling bins dressed as a giant branded ghetto blaster. A sensor inside the bin triggered 20 seconds of retro 70s/80s disco movement whenever anyone disposed of an empty bottle, and festival goers were encouraged to share their snaps on social media. We fabricated and lit the unit and provided the technology required to make it have a huge impact on its users. Two huge bins were filled with empties over the course of the weekend, and social media lit up with the hashtag #ThrowbackVIP, as revellers posted their selfies with Retro Boombox in the background.
