The high-profile event was hosted by TV stars Gabby Logan and Tess Daly.
The agency came up with the idea of a summer garden party theme which included pre-dinner drinks in a walled garden, among trees and live botanicals which guests could pick and add to their drinks. At one end of the room was a bandstand, through which guests made their way into the main event room once the drinks reception had concluded.
A crew of 43 engineers and technicians and six carpenters oversaw the build, which took place between 3am and 10pm the day before the event.
In all, three articulated lorries were packed with 4,502 pieces of equipment, plus 420m of truss, 60 motors and 120m of print required for the install. Every piece of kit was individually tested before it left our warehouse and once it had been used at the event, was retested before being checked back in.
Working to Muster’s creative brief and design, we fabricated a host of bespoke equipment including door portals, four custom bar areas and the bandstand, as well as taking care of all the lighting, sound, video and live camera at the event.
We installed a Kabuki Drop in the bandstand which hid the main event area while the pre-dinner drinks reception was in full swing.
We installed a bespoke finish to the stage to be in keeping with the outdoor rustic theme and a large tensioned graphic formed the stage backdrop.
The lighting rig consisted of 70 generic fixtures, 60 moving heads and 20 LED floods. We also installed over 250m of pixel mappable LED festoon, to create custom lighting displays across the ceiling.
There were two digital sound desks controlled via a Dante network enabling us to provide individual sound control and operation for both the band and the presenters at the event. We operated the entire show seamlessly under the creative direction of Muster and looked after the overnight breakdown which we wrapped up an hour ahead of the scheduled finish time.
Jake Moore, our Production Manager, said: “This was a challenging project to undertake, simply because of the scale of the installation in such a tight timeframe in order to make this event a success.
However, with our full-service offering, we were able to oversee the whole project in pre-production and manage the teams onsite to ensure that the all elements were executed seamlessly, and hit the excellent creative brief we were given by Muster.
We have the systems in place and use solid processes to provide our agency clients with peace of mind that everything is thoroughly tested prior to their event, to keep any issues on the day to a minimum. Our client commented that they felt in safe hands with a team that clearly work very well together and they couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
